El Aeropuerto

I did not get off to the best start, folks. While doing some last minute errands Thursday afternoon, I picked up a slice at the pizzaria on Haight Street. Dave and I eat delivery from here regularly and I grabbed a veggie slice. Well, a few hours later and my stomach was in knots. I figured I was just having a case of the butterflies, right?

Dave took me to the airport 3 hours before the 11:30 pm flight to Mexico City. I spent the entire time in the bathroom. I’ll spare you the details but it did end in a “grand finally” right before I boarded the plane. The worst seemed behind me but I continued to be so dehydrated! I drank water on the plane but it wasn’t enough. When we finally got to Mexico City 4 hours later, I raced thru immigration so that I could hunt down every bathroom & the closest stash of Gatorade.

I was then separated from the group, spaced out & all alone for the next five hours. Annoying! Mucho gusto, jerks.

Mexico City has a big airport and I was feeling better, but super weak, so from 5:30am-10am, I sipped Gatorade, munched on Ritz, and napped. They did not post the gate until about 5 minutes before they started boarding, I met up with the group who I think was mostly separated anyway, and the flight to Oaxaca only took about 35 minutes. The plane was cute, so wittle! I thought we were going to blow away but then I fell asleep.
